Spaghetti with Meatballs
Ingredients: (serving size: 6-8 people)
1-2 pounds lean ground meat (beef, chicken, turkey, or lamb)
5 tsp olive oil
⅓ cup bread crumbs
¼ finely chopped parsley
2 eggs
1 ½ cup chopped onion
1 tbsp minced garlic
2 tbsp tomato paste
½ tsp dried oregano
½ crushed red pepper flakes
1 cup water
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
1 tsp salt
1 bay leaf
1 tsp black pepper (add more if you like)
1lb dried spaghetti
½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
⅓ tsp sugar (optional)
How to cook dried spaghetti:
Boil water in a large pot on high heat.
Salt the water with at least a tbsp of salt.
Put pasta into boiling water.
Continue to stir and bring it to a simmer, turn the heat off, put the lid on and leave it
to finish cooking for 10-12 minutes.

How to make spaghetti meatballs:
In a large bowl, combine chicken with bread crumbs, parsley,
Parmesan, eggs, garlic, salt, and red pepper flakes.
Mix thoroughly and then form into 17-19 palm size balls
In a large pot over medium heat, heat the oil.
Add meatballs and cook, turning them occasionally until they are browned on all sides,
this should take about 10 minutes.
Transfer the meatballs to a plate.
How to make the sauce:
Add onion to a pot and cook until soft.
Add crushed tomatoes and bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper and bring to a simmer.
Put meatballs into the sauce and cover with lid. Simmer until the sauce has thickened,
8-10 minutes.
Serve pasta with meatballs and sauce.
Top with Parmesan and fresh basil leaves before serving (optional)
